he’s standing there in his uniform that maybe needs a bit of a wash, holding a plastic bag there dangling in front of him. when he catches sight of accelerator, he smiles and lifts both his hands to do the most awkward sort of wave EVER with both hands still holding the bag and so it’s more of an elbow wave, but! a wave has been given and he makes his way over to the other kid. )
[Auugh, kids. Why do kids have to be here? It's a lot easier to be miserable when there aren't brats running around, especially ones with the same sunny disposition as Last Order.
He sighs and walks over, looking more tired than usual. Despite having taken some time out of his day to go vent he doesn't have the slightest bit of dirt on him. Having an auto reflect is handy.]
( coming to stand in front of accelerator, he drops the bag down there and starts to rummage through it. )
Remember when we were back on that weird Earth and at that convention they had with all those heroes and villains? Well, I took some stuff with me from there and I was going through it all recently since we got back from the last mission ( and he’d been a little bedridden with his injury until the sun could heal him, but! details. ) and so here.
( at that, he holds up a mask for accelerator that is very flimsy cardboard made, but! that’s not all! he’s also pulling out some comic books and even a science book that he holds up for the other kid to take. )
[Okay, that explanation makes sense, but Accelerator stares at the mask because what the hell is that? Count Chocoula? Oh God, the pun is so ridiculous, and it's so childish.
He's dead silent, baffled as he takes everything Jon pulls out of the bag. The comics and the science book look kind of interesting, at least.]
... You think I want this stuff? [Why??? Did he bring it over???????]
( heh! it’s called having a distraction, jeez! even he needs those sometimes. so, he’s still rummaging around in that bag and pulls out an astronomy book to hold up, too. that one, he taps with his finger. )
I like this one. Which reminds me.
( at that, a box is pulled out that’s a make your own astronomy model kit. )
[This is incredibly thoughtful and Accelerator can't stop himself from being put off by that. Jon shouldn't be wasting his time on him, he's got Damian and his parents and hopefully other people who aren't murderous killjoys to hang around. This is weird and uncomfortable and Accelerator isn't sure how he's supposed to manage this situation in a way that doesn't involve yelling and possibly making a small child cry. It's what he would do with Last Order, since she can just shut off his brain functions if she gets too upset, though Yomikawa's lecture about being nicer floats through his mind.
He stares down at the model kit, and then the books he's holding, and sighs heavily.]
I'm not putting that together. It thing belongs to you. All of this shit belongs to you, so you should be the one enjoying it.
( an olive branch to reach out to him? gently dressed up a little but it’s there.
adding one more thing to the books accelerator holds in the form of a space puzzle, he ties up the handles of the plastic bag then and straightens himself up as he smiles to the other kid. )
I’ve got too much and thought you could either use it yourself or maybe set it up at the farm for others.
[Despite all the complaining, Accelerator takes the puzzle. He's frowning, unsure what to do with all of this, and so latches onto Jon's suggestion of the farm.
Okay, yeah, that's doable. One of the other kids might be interested in this stuff too, and that way he isn't turning down Jon's offer to much as putting all of this in a space where people who aren't just him can enjoy them. That makes accepting his kindness a little easier.]
... Yeah, fine. There's space in the farmhouse for all of this. [Bookshelves for the comics and books, the kitchen table and living room for the crafts. It's fine, he's got a plan of action!!] I'll drop this stuff off later.
[And then he shifts his weight from foot to foot, hesitating a moment.]
[Even if it's just him reading the comics. If Jon is going to the effort to bring all this stuff over then he can put in some effort to make sure someone enjoys it.]
[He shifts his weight, unsure if whether he should say anything or brush Jon off. Jon went to a lot of effort to bring him this stuff, and it probably can't hurt, so....
He inhales slowly.]
Don't spread it around, but I'm staying here instead of the apartments for a little while.
( at that, he nods, gaze drifting down in thought for a moment. )
Well. If you ever get bored of here, you can always sleepover at my place. I mean... I'd need to get a sleeping bag and extra pillows, but there's space and you know my mom and dad, so. It's not like you're a stranger.
( smile quiet but hopeful, he nods to accelerator. )
[Jon means well. Accelerator knows that. That's probably why it hurts when he hears the offer. Kindness is being extended to him and all he wants to do is crawl into a hole.
He sucks in a deep breath, and decides to forego the easy option of just dismissing the kid.]
( he knows how this goes, more or less, so. it's why he makes the offer — leaves the ball in accelerator's court without pushing. as long as he knows he has a place to go to — someone to reach out to even for something as childish as board games, it's there for him to take whenever he might need it. no questions asked. sometimes that's easier than outright saying you need some company or a distraction from everything. so it's there and jon intends to leave it as such.
plastic bag crinkling in hand, he swings it over his shoulder and nods to the other. )
I'm going to make sure everything's good at the farm. If that's ok with you, I mean.
[Jon is a good kid. Lois and Clark are lucky to have him around, even if he maintains that it's shitty for any child to be stuck in Etraya. It's hard for Accelerator to accept kindness from other people, but he tries his best here.]
Yeah, fine. I really need a nap, so that'd be helpful.
[He... hasn't been back over to the farm since before the mission. Since before he died. It'd be good for someone to go check in on the place and make sure it's in one piece.]
( well he better get used to this little guy being around to pour sunshine into those gloomy cracks littered across him. but with a nod, he turns only to pause mid-step then. )
Do you need me to bring back anything? It's no trouble.

Okay brat, what is it?

( to which he gives the other a bit of a wave, holding the plastic bag in his other hand now that it’s not as full of stuff. )
Just glad to know it can be put to use and not just lay around as clutter in my room.
( not that there’s a whole lot in there to begin with, but. not the point. )

( slowly, he takes a look around before he's looking back to accelerator there. )
Uh... how come? I mean... it's kinda cool. But it's not really meant to live in, right?
no subject
[Part of it has been converted into a home, though John and Harold prefer their privacy so that isn't public knowledge.]
And it's only temporary. I'm not moving out of the apartments permanently.
[He just... doesn't want to be living on his own right now. And Harold wants to keep an eye on him, so it's worked out.]

No, it's fine. Don't worry about me.
[He'd wave him off dismissively, but he doesn't have a hand free to do so.]
no subject
( and before accelerator can say anything to THAT, he hurries his way off, waving back to him as he does. )
Gotta go check on the farm! I'll see ya!
