There's a minute or two as Accelerator considers the small amount of history he knows, and what Damian wants to do, then types out a question.]

Why do you think it shouldn't be returned to Talis?

He couldn't keep track of it to begin with. I don't see anything having changed to fix that.

[He can't imagine Jayce just left it in a dresser drawer or something if they're talking about the same gemstone that can apparently function as a nonpolluting renewable energy source.....]

Did you ask him about increased security measures?

I questioned him on his plan to give it to a trusted friend unless he was experimenting with it.

From his response, I doubt that trusted friend has the ability to keep it safe, nor would I want him experimenting with something so dangerous without a containment plan, which he did not seem to have.

[He's having a lot of thoughts about this, many of which he's sure Damian would disagree with. Picking a fight isn't a good use of time though, when there are more important things to be concerned about.]

Then what's your plan afterwards if you can take it back?

That is partially why I reached out to you. You can manipulate vectors. If my scanners can't pick up what's within the gemstone, I was hoping you would be able to discern what it's power source is and render it harmless.

Okay. That would essentially be destroying it, huh?

If it's as dangerous as Talis implied, yes.

Well, I could probably do that. Destroying things is what my ability is best at.

[He isn't totally sure he wants to, but he's keeping that to himself for now.]

Destroying it would be used as a last resort, if it isn't something we can contain. From what I've heard, Talis could obtain more of them from Aurora but is choosing not to due to how dangerous they can be. I'd prefer that we not invite him to bring more here, but it also feels prudent to take it out of hands that may abuse it.

I asked first, if I could take a look at it. And was met with extreme opposition, so this is likely something we'll need to do as quickly as possible.

He kind of wonders how Damian asked, but it's a moot point by now so he doesn't bother. Better to just focus on the situation that's unfolding rather dwelling on how it came to be.]
