It's still and almost peaceful, like the vastness of space...were it not for the ruckus he can hear behind him as he runs up to the control panel overlooking the parked shuttles.
He really should have paid more attention in space traffic control class, but in his defense, someone else's grades weren't his biggest concern at the time!
After a bit of trial and error, he hits the right buttons. Metal creaks and one of the shuttles begins to slide into launch position, nose pivoting 180 to align itself with the track. The whole process can't take more than a few minutes at most, but right now, that few minutes feels like an eternity! ]
