No, those will get boiled later. Carrots can be sauteed but potatoes are usually boiled or baked. That will take much less time than the onions which will cook for about half an hour.

Mix the onions so they're coated with the fats, then add water and put the lid on for about ten minutes. The water will wilt the onions quickly which speeds up the process.
